Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its results. Koochiching County Court Docket does not keep an independent log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to the resource may be retained so a reply can be made. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may receive technical information about the visit, including:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a device. They help measure aggregate use, such as frequently visited pages and general navigation patterns. Analytics providers may assist with that measurement. Browser settings can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the resource function.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
This resource does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It provides general routing information for Koochiching County District Court Court Administration and Minnesota Court Records Online. The Minnesota Rules of Public Access to Records of the Judicial Branch and Minnesota Statutes § 13.03 concern access to records held by public bodies; they do not turn this private resource into a court records custodian.
The resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or records about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information supplied to a box is governed by the provider’s privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices. Those practices are outside the control of this resource, so review the provider’s policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
The resource links to court pages, MCRO, case-record channels, and third-party search tools. Following one of those links takes a visitor to a separate service with its own privacy terms. Review that policy before providing personal details.
Some advertising partners may measure activity across services to present advertisements. Their systems, not this resource, perform that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information may be received by:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures are used to protect collected information. Internet-connected systems still carry risk, so absolute protection from an unauthorized event cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. Contact the operator if a minor’s information may have been submitted so it can be addressed.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer-protection law may provide rights concerning information held by this private resource. Court-file access follows a separate system: the Minnesota Rules of Public Access and Minnesota Statutes § 13.03 govern the relevant public-record routes. At a minimum, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
